Expect Delays for Road Work in Richland and Lexington Counties

Construction causes delays on several roads including South Lake Drive, Harbison Boulevard, and Broad River Road

Drivers can expect delays this week due to road construction. The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced traffic delays for several areas beginning this week.

Expect delays and flagging operations for resurfacing on the following roads:

  • Harbison Boulevard from St. Andrews Road to I-26. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • Cromer Road from Sunset Boulevard to Oak Drive. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • Fish Hatchery Road from Clay Hill Road to South Lake Drive. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • Longs Pond Road from I-20 to Nazareth Road. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • South Lake Drive from Platt Springs Road to Edmund Highway. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • Polo Road from Two Notch Road to Alpine Road. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • Two Notch Road from North Brickyard Road to Metso Road. Expected completion date: Nov. 30

Expect lane closures, flagging operations and minor delays on the following roads:

  • At the intersection of Jarvis Klapman and 12th Street for application of pavement markings. Expected completion date: Nov. 30
  • At the intersection of Augusta Road and 13th St/Senn Street for traffic signal work. Expected completion date: Nov. 30

Expect minor delays and flagging operations on Broad River Road from Greystone Boulevard to Lucious Road in Richland County for the replacement of the bridge over the Broad River (ongoing project).  This project will require reducing traffic to one lane in each direction. Expected completion date: May 2013.

Expect minor delays for road widening construction on Platt Springs Road (SC 602) taking place between S-168 and Old Orangeburg Road. Expected completion date: May 2013.
