Former Chapin Police Head Sues Town, Clerk

Chapin's former police chief has filed a lawsuit against the town and its clerk saying officials have slandered him by saying he stole money and had inappropriate conduct with girls, The State reports.
David Rodgers filed a lawsuit on Dec. 28 seeking unspecified damages from Chapin and town clerk Adrienne Thompson for making what he said was false claims about stealing money up to $5,000 and inappropriate behavior, according to the report.
Rodgers served as chief of police for five of the 10 years he was employed in Chapin.
