Check out this list of places closed on Wednesday for Independence Day.

The following offices will be closed Wednesday: 

Government

  • Federal offices
  • State offices
  • Richland County offices
  • Lexington County offices
  • The town of Irmo offices
  • The town of Lexington offices. 
  • City of Columbia offices. Garbage and recyclable collection will be on the regular schedule.
  • The S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles

Banks

Sevices

  • Post offices
  • All Richland County Recreation Commission facilities. The LinRick golf course will be open.
  • Lexinton County Recreation & Aging Commission
  • All branches of the Lexington County Public Library system will be closed. 
  • All Richland County Public Library locations will be closed. 

Trash Collection/Recycling Centers

  • Town of Lexington: Solid Waste and Recycling Collection will run on a delayed schedule: Wednesday collection will be picked up Thursday, Thursday to Friday and Friday to Saturday. 
  • City of Columbia: Garbage and recyclable collection will be on the regular schedule.
  • Lexington County: Franchise Residential Solid Waste Curbside Collection in the unincorporated areas of Lexington County will operate on an adjusted schedule for the week. No collection will be made on Wednesday. Wednesday’s collections will be made on Thursday; Thursday’s collections on Friday; and Friday’s collections on Saturday.
  • The eleven Lexington County Residential Collection and Recycling Centers will be closed on Wednesday and will open as normal on Friday.
  • The Lexington County Solid Waste Management Landfill, located at 498 Landfill Lane off Route 302 in the Edmund community wiil be closed Wednesday.
