Funeral for Irmo Investment Officer Set for Friday
Funeral arrangements for William H. McAfee Jr., chief investment officer at WHM Capital Advisors and chairman of the S.C. Club for Growth, is scheduled for Friday morning.

Funeral services for William H. McAfee, Jr., , will be held Friday.
The service is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Christ Church of the Carolinas, 1824 Barnwell St., Columbia. The burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia.
According to a report from The State, Rutherford County, NC, police say McAfee, 40, had lost his footing when climbing a rock near Rumbling Bald, which is north of Lake Lure.

McAfee leaves behind wife, Teresa, and their three children: Rachel, Hamilton and Landon.
William "Bill" McAfee was known by many to be a caring, a good friend and a man driven by faith.

"He was a good, devoted Christian man and a loving father," Rep. Nathan Ballentine said. "He was a great guy, intelligent and a smart businessman.
"He helped a lot of people. He was a very giving individual."
The 1993 graduate of The Citadel, McAfee was a Battalion Executive Officer, a Distinguished Naval Student and an honor graduate of United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School.
McAfee began his financial career in commercial banking and served five years as an adjunct faculty member at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
McAfee, who was an organ donor recipient in 2004, enjoyed the outdoors and was an experienced climber.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the following organizations: Harvest Hope Food Bank, Autism Speaks, Live School, Lake Murray Young Life or Donate Life.
