Free Fridays at Riverbanks Zoo

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is offering residents in Richland and Lexington counties a chance to visit the zoo for free during the months of January and February.

"The Zoo’s success would not be possible without the continued support provided by the residents of Richland and Lexington counties,” Satch Krantz, president and CEO of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, said in a release. "This is just a small token of our immense appreciation.”

To qualify for free admission, residents will have to show proof of residency with a valid ID or a copy of their property tax statement.

Visitors living outside of Richland and Lexington counties will be charged regular admission.

Riverbanks’ winter hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

There's no limit to the number of Fridays one can visit during the Free Fridays promotion.

Take the kids to see Willy Wonka Jr. at the Harbison Theatre at Midland Technical College in Irmo. To order tickets, call Crooked Creek Park at 803-345-6181 or tickets can be purchased one hour before each show at the theatre box office. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday. Price: $6 for Adults; $4 for children 4 and up; Free for 3 and under.
