Grants Awarded to Nursery Road Faculty
Five Nursery Road Elementary School educators received grants to fund reading, math and history programs.

Congratulations are in order for the following Nursery Road Elementary School teachers who have received grants to help fund projects in the classroom.
Third-grade teachers Mary Beth Lambert and Morgan McDaniel, received a Teaching American History grant.
The history class combines in-class instruction along with a four-day field study that allowed them to experience firsthand the physical locations where many significant decisions regarding the United States Constitution occurred.

The teachers recently experienced this on a trip to Washington, D.C.
Deborah Gurley, a guidance counselor, and Deidre Cousins, a math coach, received a Reflex Learning software grant.

The software will be used with the second and third grade Math Buddy Program during the 2012-2013 school year. The grant is valued at $1,400.
Jessica Felker, the school's library media specialist, received a $2,000 Dollar General Literacy grant for the 2012-2013 school year.
The grant, titled "Reaching Out to Reluctant Readers," will provide e-readers and e-books for male reluctant readers in third, fourth, and fifth grades.
