Holiday Closings: New Year's Day

The following offices will be closed Monday:

Government

• Federal and state offices

• Richland County offices; There will be no disruption to the Richland County Solid Waste pick up schedule. The C & D Landfill and Lower Richland Drop Off center will be closed Monday. For more information and for operating hours call Richland County Solid Waste Department at 803-576-2446.

• Lexington County administrative offices; Residential curbside pickup will operate under the regular schedule. Lexington County's 11 Collection and Recycling Centers will operate under the regular schedule except for Sunday. The centers will be closed. Lexington County Landfill and Transfer Station will operate under the regular schedule.

• Town of Irmo offices; Trash pickup will not change. 

• South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles 

• City of Columbia offices; Garbage and recyclables pick up will remain on schedule.

• Town of Lexington; Solid Waste Collection will run on its normal schedule.

Banks

Many banks and credit unions will be closed Monday. Please check with your local branch.

Sevices

• Post offices will be closed Monday.

• Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative offices will be closed Monday.

• SCE&G will be closed Monday.

• All Richland County Recreation Commission administrative offices will be closed Monday. Recreation and community centers will close at 6 p.m. Saturday and will be closed Sunday. The centers will resume normal hours Monday.

• All branches of the Lexington County Public Library system will be closed Sunday and Monday.

• All branches of the Richland County Public Library system will close at 5 p.m. Saturday and will be closed Sunday and Monday.
