Holiday Closings: Thanksgiving

The following will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Government

• Federal offices will be closed Thursday.

• State offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

• Richland County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. No garbage or recyclables will be collected on Thanksgiving Day. If a holiday is on your regular collection day, your garbage will be picked up the next day. Call Richland County at 803-929-6000 for information on schedule changes.

• Lexington County offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. 

• The town of Irmo offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. 

• The town of Lexington offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. 

• The City of Columbia will be closed Thursday and Friday.

• The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Banks

Many banks and credit unions will be closed on Thursday. Please check with your local branch. 

Sevices

• Post offices will be closed Thursday.

• Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

• SCE&G will be closed Thursday and Friday.

• All Richland County Recreation Commission facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday.  The LinRick golf course will be closed Thursday and will have special rates on Friday. 

• All branches of the Lexington County Public Library system will be closed Thursday and Friday. Regular hours will resume on Saturday.

• All branches of the Richland County Public Library will close at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and will be closed on Thursday. The library will reopen Friday.
