Hospitality Tax, Android Phone Class, Painting Session

Here are five things you need to know in Irmo today.

1. Irmo hospitality tax off the table, for now

Irmo Town Council decided Tuesday to delay discussion on a hospitality tax on prepared meals and beverages in the town. Council members say talk about the issue may surface again after elections in November. Read more about the issue from The State.

2. Need help with your new Android phone? 

Verizon Wireless customers can get help setting up their new Android phones at a free workshop Saturday at the Columbiana Circle store. 

3. Paint, drink, eat. 

Corks & Canvas is holding a painting session at Macaroni Grill Sunday evening. Go enjoy some drinks, food and wine! 

4. 'Paint the Park'

Learn how to paint landscapes for free at Irmo Town Park Sunday afternoon. Art Academy is offering a free session, but donations for Oliver Gospel Mission will be accepted.

5. Chance of thunderstorms this weekend

There's a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but temperatures will be warm  - in the 90s. See the full forecast form The Weather Channel.
