Irmo Council Selects Consultant for New Park
A landcape architectural firm from Columbia was chosen as a consultant for Irmo's new park.

Council members unanimously approved the selection of a consultant for the town's new park.
Grimball Cotterill & Associates was chosen as the design/bid/build consultant for the 14-acre park located on Eastview Drive.

As for the , council's wish list includes a stage, community gardens, a pavilion, playground areas and a pond.
In other business, council unanimously approved a land lease agreement with CSX Railroad and briefly discussed sponsorships for the new park.
Mayor Pro Tem Barry Walker said he has been asked about naming rights for facilities such as the stage or pavilion.
Council members previously discussed corporate sponsorships as a way to help pay for the park's annual maintenance.
