Irmo High Athletic Trainer Named to SC Hall of Fame

Irmo's Robert "Scott" Douglass is one of the few trainers to be named to the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association's Hall of Fame.

Longtime Irmo High School Athletic Trainer Robert “Scott” Douglass has been named to the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association’s 2013 Hall of Fame, becoming one of few trainers to be given the prestigious distinction.

“It’s nice to be recognized for years of hard work and especially nice to be a trainer named among coaches,” Douglass said. “The role of trainers in high school athletics has come a long way, and it’s an honor to be recognized alongside some of the best coaches in South Carolina.”

Douglass has been a trainer since 1985 at Irmo High, where he also teaches sports medicine, and serves as head of the science department and assistant athletic director.
