Irmo Man Dies After Motorcycle Collides With Deer

A 31-year-old was riding a motorcycle Tuesday night on Kennerly Road when a deer ran into his path.

An Irmo man died Wednesday morning after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a deer.

Jonathan J. McNaughton, 31, was riding a motorcycle around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Kennerly Road near Thelma Hicks Road when a deer jumped into his path, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said.

McNaughton died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital from trauma caused by the crash.
