He showed the ticket off to a few coworkers and worked the rest of the day, mindful of the $10 Crazy Wild 10s ticket in his pocket.

He left work and drove straight to the Lottery’s Claims Center to collect his winnings.

As for his plans, he told lottery staff he had a premonition he was going to win the lottery and pay off his wife’s car and buy himself a new one. That’s why he stopped for a lottery ticket at the El Cheapo 9 on Broad River Road in Irmo that morning.

As of this release, one top prize of $200,000 remains in the $10 Crazy Wild 10s game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 500,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, El Cheapo 9 in Irmo received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
