A summary of votes taken at Tuesday's Irmo Town Council Meeting.

Irmo Town Council approved first reading of Ordinance 12-10 to adopt the 2012-2013 operating and capital budget Tuesday night.
The proposed budget totals $4,466,492, which includes a $40 increase for trash collection.
The town will continue with zero mills for property taxes.

First reading of the following ordinances were approved:

- All approve Ordinance 12-11 to amend the Irmo Business License Section to provide for a stamp fee for video sweepstakes / amusement machines See attached PDF
- 4-1Ordinance 12-12 to amend the Irmo Town Code, to add Chapter 11 - Rental Property Registration See attached PDF

Council approved the following items under new business:
- Increasing the town match for Palmettowood Sidewalk Project to $13,493.40.
- Increasing the town match for Chillingham Sidewalk Project to $21,635.80.
- A contract for the band "Mustang Sally" in the amount of $5,500 for the Okra Strut.
- Appointed Mayor Pro Tem Barry Walker to serve on the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce Board for a one-year term.
Council did not approve the following items that were on the agenda:
- Reducing the speed limit and installing speed bumps on Finsbury Road. Council member Kathy Condom withdrew her motion after discussing ways to reduce speeding on the road. Council discussed placing stop signs along the road to help deter drivers from speeding.
- Ordinance 12-02 to amend the Irmo Town Code, Chapter 14, Environment, Article II, Nuisances, to repeal Section 14-34 - Abatement
- Ordinance 12-07 to amend the Irmo Town Code, to add Chapter 11 - Rental Property Registration
- Ordinance 12-13 to amend the Irmo Zoning Ordinance, Article VIII, Section 8-1 (a) - Temporary Moratorium on Sweepstakes / Amusement Gaming Machines
