Original, March 19: Irmo Town Council is scheduled to discuss a contract for the Okra Strut administrator position and a possible purchase of properties for a new town park at its regular meeting Tuesday night.
Hiring an administrator for the 2012 Okra Strut Festival has between Mayor Hardy King and the rest of council.

Susan Hoots, wife of council member Harvey Hoots, was but King has said Susan Hoots hiring would violate the town's nepotism policy and would be an ethics violation.
King is also questioning the authorization of a check to Hoots Court Reporting & Event Management, which is owned by Susan Hoots.
