Irmo Truck Driver Killed in I-20 Crash
A 55-year-old man, who has not been identified, was driving on I-20 when his tractor trailer struck a guard rail causing the vehicle to run off the right side and overturned.

An Irmo truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 Tuesday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occured around 6:20 p.m. on I-20 westbound near mile marker 83.
A 55-year-old man, who has not been identified, was driving on I-20 when his tractor trailer struck a guard rail causing the vehicle to run off the right side of the road, Senior Trooper Brent Kelly said.

The vehicle struck several trees and overturned on its right side, Kelly said.
The tanker was empy and was not hauling any items.

The man was wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, Kelly said.
The craash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
