Update, 11 p.m.: Ralph Kennedy, an attorney in Batesburg-Leesville, wins House District 39.

The seat was left vacant by retiring Rep. Marion Frye.

Fifty-seven percent of the votes went to Kennedy over Batesburg-Leesville mayor .

In the Senate District 26 race, Deedee Vaughters beat Duane Naquin with 62 percent.

Vaughters will run against Sen. Nikki Setzler (D-Lexington) in November.

Update, 10:34 p.m.: Democratic candidate will now face Republican incumbent Sen. John Courson in the November general election race for Senate District 20 after winning Tuesday's primary.

Rikard, a Columbia attorney, received 64 percent of the votes against Richland County Council member .

Update, 9:58 p.m.: Congressman Joe Wilson wins the Republican Party's nomination for the 2nd Congressional District in South Carolina.

Wilson received 80 percent of the votes against Lexington County resident Phil Black. 

South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly congratulated Wilson on his victory Tuesday night.

 “South Carolina Republicans sent a powerful message that they want Joe Wilson to keep fighting for their values in Washington," Connelly said in a released statement.

"With no Democratic opposition in November, we look forward to Joe continuing his great record of creating jobs, working for lower taxes, and looking out for our veterans and their families.”
