Lake Murray Dam Park to Close for Construction

The park on the Irmo side of the Lake Murray Dam will be closed temporarily for crews to make improvements to the site, South Carolina Electric & Gas announced Friday.

The park will be closed beginning Monday, Nov. 12.

Officials say the improvements are expected to take up to three weeks, depending on the weather.

The improvements include paving and restriping the parking lot, and constructing a concrete access road to the existing boat ramps. 

The walker’s parking lot on the south side of the lake on the Lexington side will remain open for public use.
