Little Mountain Man Killed While Walking on Lexington County Road Identified
Jimmy M. Caughman, 57, of Little Mountain was walking on Westwood Drive in Chapin when he stepped in front of a moving vehicle.

A pedestrian who was struck by a truck and killed while walking on Secondary 268 near Chapin has been identified.
Jimmy M. Caughman, 57, of Little Mountain was walking on Westwood Drive in Chapin when he stepped in front of a moving vehicle, the Lexington County Coroner's Office said in a news release.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres said Caughman was walking eastbound in the road around 6:35 p.m. when the driver of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound struck him.

The driver, who is from Little Mountain, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Caughman was transported to Lexington Medical Center, where he died as a result of the injuries he received in the accident, Coroner Harry Harman said.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
