Updated: The Chapin varsity cheerleaders won the 3A State Competitive Cheer Championship for the fifth consecutive year
With a score of 282 — the highest score across all divisions — the Silver Foxes top the competition to bring home the school's ninth state varsity cheer title.
In Class 4A, Dutch Fork came in sixth place with a score of 259 and Irmo placed eighth with a score of 253.

A win this year for the Eagles would mean a ninth title overall.
The squads are set to perform at the following times:
Class 3A
- Chapin, 3:30 p.m.
Class 4A
- Irmo, 6 p.m.
- Dutch Fork, 6:18 p.m.

The state competition will be held at the Bi-Lo Center, 650 North Academy Street in Greenville.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Admission is $10 for anyone older than 5 years old. Children age 5 and under are free.
