
Lexington County Sheriff Department deputies say an 18-year-old West Columbia man was arrested Wednesday for breaking into a home on Fox Crossing Road and stealing items worth more than $8,000.
William Larry Richardson, 18, of 241 Fox Lake Drive, West Columbia, was charged with first-degree burglary, Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said.
An arrest warrant allege that around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Richardson broke into the Fox Crossing Road home and stole one flat-screen television, one Browning Belgium rifle, two Remington rifles, one Remington shotgun, two additional firearms and two laptop computers, Metts said.

A neighbor called the police after seeing a man carrying a bag while leaving the home.
Metts said deputies found a trail of stolen items leading away from the Fox Crossing Road home to an area near where Richardson lives with his parents.

A wheelbarrow containing several firearms and laptop computers that had been reported stolen from the Fox Crossing Road home were also found.
Deputies say they found more stolen items in Richardson’s bedroom at his parents’ home.
Richardson was being held Wednesday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
