Man Charged With Burglary of Chapin Home, Stolen Car

A 17-year-old Little Mountain man faces several charges after he allegedly stole from a Chapin home and stole a car from Georgia.

Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Little Mountain man accused of breaking into a home near Chapin and stealing $2,300 worth of jewelry and silver coins, as well as possessing a stolen vehicle.

Charles Jacob Leo Frick, 17, was charged with second-degree burglary, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen goods and petit larceny.

Frick is also charged with possessing a 2006 Chevrolet Impala sedan that was reported stolen to the Atlanta Police Department on Monday, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies said on the morning of Dec. 12, Frick and two 16-year-old boys allegedly broke into a home on Stevens Creek Road and stole jewelry, silver coins and other items.

Deputies later recovered the items at the homes of Frick and the two 16-year-old boys.

Deputies are recommending the two boys be prosecuted in family court, and charged with second-degree burglary and criminal conspiracy, the department said. 

The two boys were released into the custody of their grandparents.                                                           

According to arrest warrants, on Tuesday deputies found Frick asleep in the driver’s seat of the car he allegedly stole while in Georgia and drove to Little Mountain.

Deputies also said they found mail that had been reported stolen from homes on Amicks Ferry Road in the car.

Frick was being held on Tuesday at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
