Man Charged with Shooting, Killing Irmo Man

Deputies say the man fired multiple shots Monday night during a fight near Monticello Road.

Richland County deputies arrested a 34-year-old man Tuesday and charged him with shooting and killing an Irmo man earlier this week

Ivory English is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a stolen weapon in connection with a shooting near Monticello Road Monday night, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. 

Investigators say English fired multiple shots when a fight broke out between cousins on Woodbrier Street around 9 p.m. Mandell V. Glover, 35, of Irmo was hit and killed. 

Deputies say another man was shot multiple times in the upper body during the incident and is in the hospital in critical condition. They also say English fired multiple shots at a woman who hid behind a car and escaped injury. 

Investigators arrested English Tuesday at the Motel 6 at 7541 Nates Road after following up on tips about his whereabouts. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
