Man Identified in Lexington County Wreck

The driver killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday night in Lexington County has been identified.

Octaviano R. Farias, 28, of Gilbert, was driving a Ford Expedition in the 200 block of West Columbia Avenue in Batesburg-Leesville when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree, according to Coroner Harry Harman.

Emergency personnel removed Farias from the vehicle and transported him to the Lexington Medical Center, according to the coroner’s office.

Farias was pronounced dead from multiple head and body trauma, Harman said in a release.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department.
