More Flu Vaccine Available for State's Infants
State health department officials are allowing the use of state-funded flu vaccines for those with private health insurance from now until June 30.

The S.C. Department of Health and Environment Control has made an exception to the rules to address the shortage of flu vaccine for children ages six months to 3 years old, The State reports.
The department is allowing the use of state-funded flu vaccines for those with private health insurance, according to the report.
Some physicians said they ran out of the vaccine that was purchased for their patients and asked the department if it could make a change to help with the shortage.
