Mother Charged After Hitting Son With Spatula

The Chapin Police Department has charged the mother of a 6-year-old after the boy told his teacher she hit him in the face with a spatula, according to a report from The State. 

Crystal Maren, 29, has been charged with cruelty to children after the SC Department of Social Services contacted the police concerning an incident where Maren hit the boy for not listening, The State reports.

The boy and his sister are in the care of Maren's mother.
