New Irmo Park May Not Be Ready for Okra Strut Festival

The festival will be held near Irmo Town Hall.

The new park under construction in Irmo won't be ready in time for the Okra Strut Festival in the fall, The State reports.

Rain has delayed work at the park, according to the report. Town leaders are planning to move the festival to Irmo Town Park and the streets around it.

Last year's festival was also held at Irmo Town Park and the streets around it.

When the new park located on Eastview Drive is finished, it will be the permanent home of the Okra Strut Festival. Town leaders have not decided on a name for the park.
