New Store Featuring Local Artisans Opening in Friarsgate Plaza

A store featuring hand-crafted artwork, jewelry, candles and more by local artisans is opening Monday.

Grandma's House will be located in Friarsgate Plaza at 7949 Broad River Road near Bi-Lo. 

The owner, Rita Ballantyne, was a vendor in the former Our Hands Together Artisan Market that closed in January. Many of the same vendors from the old store will be selling their work at the new store, Grandma's House.

Hand-crafted items will include: 

  • soaps and candles by Wicks Way
  • pottery by Christy Brasington
  • eceletic multi-media creations by CJ Marchese 
  • jewelry & crochet items by Catherine Sawyer
  • wall art and paintings by Bette Commander, Susan Johnson
  • jewelry and Chinese brush paintings by Wei Yao 
  • embroidery by Betsy Dodds
