Notes on Votes: Irmo Town Council July 17

The Irmo Town Council met for a regular session Tuesday night. Council members voted on several items related to the new town park.

Council voted to approve the following:

• Members unanimously approved a contract with Rutland Mulching Service in the amount of $28,800 for the clearing/mulching of underbrush in the new town park.  
• Council voted 4-1 to give authorization to the town administrator to proceed with a special tree survey of trees 8" or larger and boundaries (not to exceed $4,500) and that all three original bidders on the project are allowed to rebid.
• Members unanimously approved advertising for a design/build firm request for quotation for the new park. 

In other business, council discussed refunding stamp fees for . 

State Law Enforcement Division agents recently raided two businesses in Irmo and seized a total of seven machines. 

Since , the item was placed on the agenda for members to consider whether the town would give a refund to those businesses whose machines were seized. 

Council decided to take no action until receiving legal advice from the town's attorney.
