Update: Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Fatality
Pedestrian Killed on I-26 was Hit by Four Vehicles
Latest Update, 12:26 p.m., Dec. 12: Lexington Coroner Harry O. Harman has identified the victim involved in the pedestrian-versus-vehicle accident on I-26 West at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, as Casey Spence Rogers, 20, of Irmo.
According to Harman, the victim died from massive body trauma.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol's .
Previous update, 2:08 p.m., Dec. 11: The S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating a fatal accident where a pedestrian walking in the road on Interstate 26 near St. Andrews Road was hit by four vehicles and killed.

A 2006 Volkswagen was traveling west on I-26 when the vehicle hit the pedestrian who was walking in the road, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Judd Jones.
Three other vehicles traveling west also hit the pedestrian.

The fatal accident remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Original story: The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident on Interstate 26 near St. Andrews Road.
According to a report from The State, a pedestrian walked onto I-26 early Saturday morning and was hit multiple times.
The accident happened some time after 6 a.m.
The westbound lanes of I-26 near exit 106 was blocked off early Saturday morning.
Patch was on the scene as the fire department was spraying down the interstate where the accident occured. Traffic was diverted to St. Andrews Road.
Details of the accident have yet to be released by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
