Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near Chapin
A driver hit a pedestrian on Secondary 268, also known as Westwoods Road, around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A pedestrian died Tuesday night after being hit by a truck on Secondary 268 near Chapin in Lexington County, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was walking eastbound in the road around 6:35 p.m. when the driver of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian, Sgt. Bob Beres said. The pedestrian was also wearing dark clothing.
The Lexington County Coroner's Office has not yet released the identity of the pedestrian.

The driver of the pickup truck, a man from Little Mountain, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
