The town of Irmo ushered in the holiday season with its 11th annual Irmo Tree Lighting ceremony held in the Town Park Tuesday night.

Irmo Elementary School's Superstar Singers provided some musical entertainment right before Irmo Mayor Hardy King hit the switch to turn on the lights of the town's Christmas tree.

Instead of reindeer, Santa decided to ride in on a fire truck to greet eager children ready to tell him their Christmas list.
