Carolina Wildlife Care held its annual Baby Shower/Open House for visitors to learn about the animals the center takes care of including baby opossums, raccoons, squirrels and snakes.
opened its doors to the public for its annual baby shower/open house Sunday.
The center treats sick, injured and orphaned animals with the goal of returning them back into their natural habitat, according to the center's website.
Visitors were able to tour the facility and see the center's animals up close and personal.

Animals included baby opossums, raccoons, squirrels, birds and snakes.
Anne Palyok, director of Carolina Wildlife Care, said the the open house is way for the public to learn about how they can get involved and help wildlife.

"I hope they learn how important it is to take care of the wildlife we have," Palyok said. "Everything has its place. And to appreciate what they're here for."
"We just hope you come away with a better understanding of what's going on and what you can do to help them."
