Locals connect with nature at this year's Earth Fair held at Saluda Shoals Park.

Earth Fair, known as a celebration of the Earth and our environment, was held Saurday at Saluda Shoals Park.

Dolly Patton, director of the Saluda Shoals Foundation, said the event was a way to get people to learn about nature and environmental programs.

"We want people to understand the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources," Patton said. "It’s very important in our electronic age to connect to nature and be outdoors and understand that you need green space for a lot of reasons."
