Photos: Irmo High Beat Spring Valley for Homecoming

Irmo High School played host to Spring Valley High School Friday night at W. C. Hawkins Stadium in Irmo.

Irmo (4-4, 2-0) held a strong lead in the first half entering halftime 24-7.

Early in the third quarter, Irmo made it 31-7 with a touchdown pass. By the end of the quarter, the Vikings came back with a touchdown showing the Yellow Jackets that they weren't out of the game.

By the fourth quarter, Irmo was still up 31-14. With less than 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Irmo made a field goal.

Spring Valley later came back with an interception bringing the score up to 34-21 with less than five minutes left in the game.

Irmo beat Spring Valley during its homecoming game 34-21.

The 2011 Homecoming Court includes: Claire Kennedy, Homecoming Queen; Mary Kate Korpita, Senior Class; Ivey Westerkam, Junior Class; Emily Rossi, Sophomore Class; and Camille Doloughty, Freshman.

Irmo will play Richland Northeast High School next Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Irmo.
