Family and friends gathered in the Irmo Town Hall to watch the swearing-in ceremonies of Hardy King, Harvey Hoots and Paul Younginer
Prior to the start of Irmo Town Council's regular meeting Tuesday night, Mayor Hardy King and council members Harvey Hoots and Hardy King were sworn in to serve in their respective positions.
The council also recognized former mayor John Gibbons for 22 years of service.
Gibbons wished council members "good luck" and urged them to "remember the difference between power and authority," and to only exercise their authority.
