Police: Man Arrested for Murder, Armed Robbery

A Swansea man was arrested for the murder of a 43-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound to his leg.

A Swansea man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 43-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound to his leg, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Patrick Sintell Larry, 31, of Swansea, was charged with murder, first-degree burglary and armed robbery.

Larry is being held Friday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.

Arrest warrants allege that on Feb. 12 Larry entered the home of Matthew Milhouse, Jr., 43, on Calhoun Road while armed with a shotgun.

Police say Larry shot and killed Milhouse while he was trying to rob him.

According to preliminary autopsy results, Milhouse died as a result of a gunshot wound to his upper leg, Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman said.

A forensic pathologist determined Milhouse died within minutes of being shot in the leg. The shotgun blast lacerated blood vessels in Milhouse’s leg, The gunshot lacerated blood vessels in Milhouse’s leg, resulting in rapid and fatal blood loss.

Sheriff James R. Metts said the shooting remains under investigation and detectives might arrest additional persons in connection to the case.
