Update: Coroner Idenitifies Columbia Man in Olive Garden Shooting
Columbia Police Department investigating the death of man shot and killed at Olive Garden.

Update, 11:36 a.m.: Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman has identified the man who was shot and killed Thursday night at the Olive Garden on Harbison Boulevard.
Thomas T. Hoefer, 21, of Columbia, was shot by an unknown suspect in the parking lot of the Olive Garden, Harman said.
Hoefer was transported to Lexington Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m.

An autopsy performed on Friday by Newberry Pathology Associates revealed Hoefer died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to a coroner's office release.
The cause of death was exsanguination due to laceration of the lung, according to the report. Exsanguination is a fatal loss of blood.

The homicide is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Columbia Police Department.
Original story, 9:49 a.m. Friday: The Columbia Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was shot Thursday night at a Harbison Boulevard restaurant.
Around 9 p.m. Thursday, a male was shot and killed at the Olive Garden on Harbison Boulevard.
No other information has been released.
