Police Shut Down Meth Lab in Batesburg
Another methamphetamine (meth) lab has been found in Lexington County, this time in the Batesburg-Leesville area. Two men have been arrested.
The Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested two men Thursday for allegedly operating a methamphetamine (meth) lab at a home in Batesburg.
William Fox, 34, of 642 Mabus Road, Batesburg, was arrested on one count of distributing meth and one count of possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Officers also arrested David Wayne Kirkland, 51, of 319 Pine Street, Batesburg, on two counts of distributing methamphetamine.

Sheriff James Metts said NET officers set up surveillance at the Mabus Road home after receiving complaints from citizens of drugs being sold.
Officers found that Fox and Kirkland were actively operating a meth lab inside the home, according to the sheriff’s department.

Both Fox and Kirkland are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
