Update: Boil Water Advisory for Stockland Road Repealed

Residents are advised to boil their water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking

Update: A boil water advisory for a portion of Stockland Road in Irmo has been repealed. 

Water customers of the 100 to 400 Blocks of Stockland Road no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

Residents in the 100 to 400 blocks of Stockland Road in Irmo should boil their water before use after a 10-inch water main break Wednesday, according to an advisory issued by the city of Columbia. 

Any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to boil their water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking. 

Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking.

Work is underway to resolve the problem.
