RCSD Sergeant Wins Officer of the Year

American Legion Post 193 in Chapin presented Richland County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Maria Yturria with the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award.

Post Adjutant William Chick presented Yturria with the award at a ceremony Thursday. Yturria works in the Victims Services Division at the sheriff's department.

She was recognized for the "unwavering support" she has provided to the community and "for her efforts toward improving the lives of our citizens," Sheriff Leon Lott said.
