Report: Brett Parker's Wife at Center of Federal Gambling Case

Brett Parker's defense attorneys and prosecutors are at odds over whether Tammy Parker was a member of a gambling ring.

Handwritten accounting notes are at the center of a federal gambling trial involving Irmo's Brett Parker and his wife, Tammy Parker, according to a report.

Notes written by Tammy Parker show that she listed money from her husband's gambling business as income on the family's budget, according to a report from The State. But Brett Parker's defense attorney and prosecutors are at odds over whether the notes prove that Tammy Parker was a member of the gambling ring.

Prosecutors must prove that the gambling ring had five members in order to convict someone on a federal gambling charge, according to The State.

Brett Parker, his father and another man are facing federal gambling charges.

Prosecutors say Bryan Capnerhurst, Brett Parker's gambling partner, and Tammy Parker were the fourth and fifth members of the ring. Brett Parker was convicted in May of killing both Capnerhurst and his wife.
