While investigating the deaths of Parker's wife, Tammy Jo Parker, and business partner, Bryan Capnerhurst, investigators uncovered Parker's sports betting operation as well as another gambling business in the Midlands.

Both Tammy Parker and Bryan Capnerhurst were found dead in the Parker's Ascot Estates home on April 13, 2012

Lasty year, prosecutors said Parker killed his wife to collect more than $1 million in insurance money to pay off about $600,000 in debt.

Parker, however, told Richland County Sheriff's detectives that Capnerhurst shot his wife and then he shot Capnherhurst in self-defense.

Each face a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Three other Midlands men were sentenced in January for their roles in the Columbia-area gambling operation that was uncovered during the investigation of the Parker case.

Lanny Ray Gunter II, of Chapin, was sentenced to five months in prison, to be followed by five months home confinement.

Harry Bruce Benenhaley, of Columbia, and Ronald Dale Spence, of Irmo, were both sentenced to five years probation, including six months of home confinement.

Authorities said Gunter had loaned $5,000 to Parker for him to start his own sports betting business.

Parker is scheduled to appear in court on two counts of murder in May, according to The State.
