An Irmo man was arrested Sunday after police say he stole more than $500 in electronics and other items Sunday from Walmart. Michael Allie Elsey Jr., 43, is charged with shoplifting.  Police say Elsey entered the Walmart at 1180 Dutch Fork Road around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and put an air conditioning unit, Corona Light, sunglasses, men's clothing, a DVD player and a 32" TV in his shopping cart, according to an Irmo Police Department report.  Elsey then walked out of the store without paying for the items, according to the report. An Irmo Police officer who was in the store's loss prevention office working on an unrelated case watched Elsey walk out without paying.   The officer stopped Elsey outside the store and arrested him.  The stolen items were recovered, and Elsey was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
