"I am just grateful and humble to be at a school that allows our student-athletes to develop academically, as well as, on and off the court. Hopefully, my coaching staff and I have played a role in both areas that will last far beyond any award that we have been fortunate enough to earn," said Coach Bauldrick.  Westwood Principal Robert Jackson is proud of the accomplishments his coach and scholar-athletes. “These achievements demonstrate that when you work hard and dedicate yourself to achieving your goals, you will achieve premier outcomes. We congratulate them for helping us to #RiseAsaone.” Jessica Woods, a junior at Westwood, is the Player of the Year. This week in the first round of the playoffs, she reached a major milestone by scoring her 1,000th career point.   “I am blessed to be named the best player in the region. This is a goal that Coach Bauldrick and I have been talking about since my freshman year. It speaks to the work ethic that I and the coaching staff at Westwood have, getting up early in the mornings and working out. Can’t get any better,” Woods said. “After graduation, I plan to attend a well-rounded college or university.” While Woods has not made any decisions yet, she said her end goal is to make it to the WNBA and she is looking for the best school to prepare her for the professional league. Woods is considerably active off the court at Westwood. She participates in the peer mentoring program, SOAR Honors Academy, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination).  Coach Bauldrick, who is also a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program (JROTC) instructor at Westwood, has led the Redhawks to three South Carolina High School League Final Four championship appearances in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
