Seven Oaks to Offer New 4K Program
Parents of children age 4 now have the option to enroll their child in the EXCEL program at Seven Oaks Elementary School.

Beginning in August, parents in Lexington-Richland 5 will have another option on where to enroll their four-year-olds in prekindergarten, school officials announced Wednesday.
Seven Oaks Elementary will offer EXCEL (Exposing Children to Early Learning), a tuition-based prekindergarten program for students living inside the school district boundaries.
EXCEL curriculum will begin daily at 7:50 a.m. Parents will be able to drop off children early starting at 7:10 a.m. The children will participate in structured learning activities including mathematics, reading, social studies and science. The academic school day will end at 2:40 p.m., but parents will have the option to have children participate in the EXCEL Boys and Girls Club after school program until 6 p.m. daily.

EXCEL is built on the success of a similar program at Irmo Elementary School and will follow the district's calendar. Child care on most non-school weekdays will be offered through EXCEL Boys and Girls Club for an additional fee.
Tuition is $5,400 for the school year. Program tuition may be broken into payments of $150.00 weekly; $300.00 bi-weekly or $540 monthly (August, 2013 through May 2014). EXCEL Boys and Girls Club tuition is $20 per week.
