Sheriff: Chapin Man Arrested for Stealing 64 Gallons of Gas
A 34-year-old Chapin man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing more than $200 worth of gas.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a 34-year-old Chapin man on Wednesday for allegedly stealing 64 gallons of gas from a country club near Chapin.
Deputies arrested Robert Sigmund Key, Jr., of 219 Fairway Ridge Drive, Chapin, on three counts of breaking into a tank in which fuel is stored, according to the sheriff’s department.
Police say around 9:36 p.m. on March 11, Key broke the lock off the gas pump from the storage tank at the Timberlake Country Club at 222 Timberlake Drive and pumped about 19 gallons of gas worth about $66.

Key allegedly stole gas from the same tank on March 19 and March 29, stealing 22 gallons of gas worth about $77 and 23 gallons of gas worth about $80, respectively.
Key is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on bail totaling $15,000.
