Sheriff: Mobile Meth Lab Seized in Irmo
Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Lexington County Sheriff's Department and Irmo Police Department bust a mobile meth lab in Irmo.

A Columbia man was arrested Friday after officers found a mobile methamphetamine lab in the toolbox of a truck that was parked at an Irmo business.
Daniel Christopher Parrish, 51, of Willow Winds Drive, is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing methamphetamine.
Deputies responded to a call about 1:30 a.m. on Friday of a suspicious vehicle that was parked at a storage business on Lake Murray Boulevard, according to a release from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say they saw Parrish run towards a blue 1995 Dodge Ram pickup truck, get in and then put the truck in reverse.
The deputies were able to stop Parrish from leaving the scene by blocking his path with their patrol cars.

After searching the truck, deputies found a black plastic container — commonly used to store film for a camera — on the floorboard of the truck, the department said.
Inside the container was a small bag containing methamphetamine, according to the release.
The Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team was called in to investigate after deputies detected a strong chemical odor originating from the toolbox.
Parrish was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center where he was awaiting a bond hearing.
