Silver Foxes Fall to Gaffney, 34-22
The Dutch Fork football team lost its first state title bid Saturday against the Gaffney Indians.
The Dutch Fork High Silver Foxes end their season with a lost to Gaffney High on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
The Gaffney Indidans took an early lead having scored 17 points in the first quarter over Dutch Fork.
Coach Tom Knotts, who has led the team to its first state title game in the program's history, said of the team after the game, "They didn't quit. They played to the last minute."
