Speak Out: Are You Attending the First Citizens for Birch County Meeting?

The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at The Cotton House in Irmo

The first meeting of a group of citizens seeking to form a new county in the Midlands will he held today starting at 6:30 p.m. in Irmo.

Those attending the event will have the opportunity to hear from those spearheading the effort to form Birch County — a proposed named for the area that would incorporate parts of Ballentine, Irmo and Chapin.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the The Cotton House, 7777 St. Andrews Road.
